Purplefarm Genetics Sour Glue from Artisan Batch is a hybrid strain that was created by crossing Gorilla Glue #4 with Sour Diesel.
In terms of smell and taste, many users report this flower having a sweet musky citrus aroma and flavour. Growers describe the buds as being medium in size with dark orange hairs and a thick layer of frosty trichomes and over 3% terpenes that include myrcene, limonene and caryophyllene. Artisan Batch was created by Indiva to offer premium flower so we’re interested to see how this compares to competitors like Redecan’s Sour Diesel or the recently reviewed Station House’s GG4.

Smell
This product arrived from Artisan Batch in a black tinted glass container with a label proudly displaying the fact it was grown in Johnston, Ontario. After removing the lid and taking a deep inhale we noted a moderately strong musky sweet citrus with an undercurrent of grape or diesel. There was definitely a part of this flower that reminded us of powdered juice mix.
Appearance
We dumped out the contents and noted Artisan Batch included a humidity shield which definitely seemed to keep the buds fresh. The label says it was packaged in November 2021 so finding the buds still spongy was a nice surprise. As for the size of the olive green buds, they ranged from small to medium, were lightly sticky but also still quite leafy. The trim job could have been better but understand the difficulty given the fluffiness of the buds.
Flavour
The delicious smell got us quite excited to roll this one up. After spinning a nice joint and taking a few tokes, we found the overall flavour was milder then the smell. In addition to the musky citrus there was a mild sweet grape flavour present in both inhale and exhale that was accented with a hint of black pepper spice. In terms of straight grape we prefer something like Table Top’s Purple Punch because it leans more into the sweet and less spice.
Experience
Listed with 21.6% THC content and a price tag of $49.95 for 3.5 grams, we found Artisan Batch’s Purplefarms Genetics Sour Glue delivered a moderately strong experience but overall was a tad disappointing given the premium cost. After smoking we felt an immediate cerebral high that produced cloudy thoughts with a desire to just chill and further compounded with a moderately strong physically relaxing body vibe. We actually didn’t mind this flower but the $50 price makes fully recommending difficult as there is better products out there for less.
