BC Black recently launched the legacy craft grower Pineapple Buds and their Pineapple Upside Down Cake strain.
This indica-dominant hybrid crosses Pineapple Trainwreck with Cookie Monster and boasts about a sweet tropical aroma with herbal nutty notes and spicy earthy, sweet cakey undertones. We grabbed the 3.5 gram bag for $37.99 but you can also get 15 grams for $123.99. Hoping this cultivar will turn our world upside down and also curious how it compares to BLK MKT’s Upside Down Cake.

Smell
After opening we were hit with an overpowering sharp but sweet lime scent with a peppery vanilla aftertaste. The product comes in a black resealable bag with tremendous amounts of information printed on the back like the flower having 2.75% terpene content. Upon opening the package we detected a potent earthy tang with strong sweet after-notes. If you don’t know already then learn how terpenes affect cannabis.
Appearance
This 3.5 gram allocation consisted of one large bud with three medium sized ones all which were very dense and had a dark evergreen colour with purple spots throughout. There was a heavy coating of trichomes with a smattering of orange pistols. One disappointment was the lack of a humidity pack, which is going to be needed if this product is ever being shipped out of BC.
Flavour
BC Black’s Pineapple Upside Down Cake strain had a very strong tangy taste with a strange almost sweet soy aftertaste during the first hit. Upon consuming more, that tangy flavour becomes the most prolific with any sweet notes combining nicely with the tang.
Experience
The high with this cultivar created a “headband” sensation combined with a euphoric feeling pretty much for the duration of the high. With 26.7% THC content, Pineapple Upside Down Cake is definitely a good deal at $37.99 for 3.5 grams or $123.99 for 14 grams. Even though the price is higher then we’d like to see this can still be a good option if you want to treat yourself.
