Today’s we’re looking at the Greasy Pink Live Resin from Big which was made using BHO extraction from a group of carefully selected Birthday Cake strain buds.
We’re not familiar with this strain so this one is as much of a mystery to us as you. However based off the description the flavour profile sounds like it will be a tangy cake with a creamy secondary undertone on exhale. It sounds interesting so we want to see how it compares with something like Dabble’s Dabbleberry Rosin or even Natural History’s Meat Breath Cured Rosin.

Smell
The product arrived from BIG in a bright blue resealable pouch with zipper opening. After tearing open the package, we found a small glass container for concentrated extracts that would be perfect if the glass was tinted as you don’t want your concentrate exposed to sunlight. Well, once we got the security lid off the glass container, we took a deep breath and easily detected an aroma that was consistent with lemon pound cake but seemed to get stronger with subsequent inhales.
Appearance
The tiny glass container measures an inch in thickness including the lid or 3/4 inch without the lid and has a diameter of 1 inch. The live resin itself very much reminded us of candle wax. It was very sticky but easy to manipulate with a scoop tool and was a bright solid colour similar to that of orange juice.
Flavour
We think it’s a really positive situation when the aroma and flavour pair with each other seamlessly and that was certainly the case with this product. When we inhaled there was a definite and delicious lemon pound cake flavour which remained present no matter if we smoked a small dab or a large one. Very tasty so be careful not to overindulge with this one.
Experience
Our batch was from lot number RE205792A with a package date of June 13, 2022. In terms of price, BIG’s Greasy Pink Live Resin was listed with 68% THC and sells for $56.00 per gram which seems about right. Even though the terpenes were listed at 11.64% there was no breakdown which is unfortunate. Since we only use a rice-sized grain of concentrate each time, the single gram will last a while. High tolerance users will be happy as the effects were very strong overall including a tingling body high and heavy eye lid sensation. Mentally, we enjoyed the relaxed and calm vibes produced. Tasty and effective – our favourite kind of concentrate – perhaps you’ll enjoy it too!
