The last Cali product we reviewed was their Pink Diamonds strain so today we thought was a perfect time to check out their newly crafted version of 9 lb Hammer.
This indica-dominant flower was created by crossing Gooberry with Hells OG. Since we’re not familiar with either of these strains, this will be a blind test in a way. Some users describe the smell as a sweet grape with a hint of earth and a taste of sweet berry lime. Growers note the flowers tend to be bright neon green with grape-shaped nugs that have dark forest green undertones and a fine layer of trichomes.
Let’s see how this indica-hybrid compares to Cali’s Big Budda Cheese.

Smell
The flower from Cali arrived in a standard black plastic container with security top. After unscrewing the lid and removing the protective seal we released a strong sweet aroma that reminded us of sweet berries mixed with a mild earthy undertone that included subtle hints of pepper and pine. We hope this one tastes as good as it smells.
Appearance
Cali has always done a great job with presentation. This flower was packaged in August and did not include a humdity shield, however the buds were still nice and spongy. In terms of actual appearance, they were small to medium in size, very dense and compact with bright green leaves and dark green undertones. We only noticed a few pistils on the exterior which the same can be said for the fine but still evenly distributed trichome layer.
Flavour
Given the nice aroma of sweet earthy berries with hints of pepper and pine, we eagerly rolled up a joint as we were curious how this one would kick. The flower burned nice and slow with a flavour profile that was not as strong as the smell, however that’s not the interesting aspect. We felt the flavour seemed to have a sweet black pepper element on inhale rather than the berry we’d hoped for even though there is definitely a hint of pine that lingers on exhale.
Experience
Our container was part of lot number 9H24459 which was packaged on August 9, 2022. Listed with 26.5% THC content and a price tag of $37.95 for 3.5 grams, we feel Cali has once again delivered a solid product. After smoking, we felt like one of the moles in Wack-A-Mole game as the overall high was strong and similar to getting bonked on the head with a soft mallet. There was a strong physical relaxation with a tingling sensation all over our body including a mental impact that felt like writers block. That feeling of being able to focus but with the absence of thoughts. Overall this one was very strong and we recommend checking out if you can find some.
