Garlic Cookies is an indica-dominant strain that was created by crossing GSC (Girl Scout Cookies) with Chemdawg to produce a plant well known for solid dense buds, fiery orange hairs and thick layers of trichomes.
It’s terpene profile includes Pinene, Limonene, Myrcene and Beta-Caryophyllene which produce a gassy flavour and aroma. Cali describes their version of Garlic Cookies as having a dank gassy aroma mixed with citrus undertones. Plus their website states this batch is part of a limited edition craft collection which was grown indoors under ideal conditions for the best results. This means hang drying, hand trimming (to retain trichome structure) AND cured for at least 28 days.
This sounds wonderful of course… but how does this compare to Cali’s Pink Diamonds?

Garlic Cookies arrived from Cali in small black plastic container with resealable lid. Once we opened the lid it was initially difficult to zero in on the exact smell, however the sweet gassy aroma with sharp citrus notes at the end soon become very noticeable. It was not overpowering but distinct and much more pleasant then it’s parent strain Chemdawg.
We dumped out the container and were happy with what we saw. Extremely compact, medium-sized, and super dense. When I say dense I mean rock hard almost like little stones. These buds scream intensity and definitely looks like they’ve been grown in a great environment. Add to that, they’re covered with crystalized trichomes and have deep veins of brown hairs, one can very much appreciate the care taken growing these buds!
The “fun to identify” portion of the smell profile is equally present in flavour profile. We went through multiple joints with this strain. It starts with an usual combo of smooth sweet spice and then tapers off on a final citrusy note. This one is quite tasty with a flavour profile that matches it smell very nicely.
Cali’s Garlic Cookies delivers a very strong high that focusing on the body. I felt as though I had glassy eyes and could feel the top of my head buzzing, however I also noted it allowed the mind to be quite clear which is nice. Given it’s decent price point, very strong high and great flavour… give this one a try if you’re looking for a new high THC (low CBD) indica strain. In terms of competing products, we like this more then Edison’s version but we prefer Spinach’s GMO Cookies just a tad more.
