Traditionally Mendo Breath is a hybrid cannabis strain that is created by crossing OGKB with Mendo Montage.
However Coterie’s Mendo Breath Hybrid has a slightly different lineage and was cultivated by mixing Moon Shine Haze, Ghost Train Haze and Mendo Breath Hybrid. This strain has a high terpene ratio of 2% that includes beta-Myrcene, d-Limonene and beta-Caryophyllene producing a sweet, citrus flavour, with a spicy, earthy finish that has hints of vanilla. Plus, the high percentage of THC (21-27%) means this product should have a bit of kick.
Mendo Breath is known for dense, frosty green buds with fiery orange highlights so it will be interesting to see how Coterie’s Mendo Breath Hybrid compares to the original.

Smell
Coterie’s Mendo Breath Hybrid arrived in a black spice-style container with easy to open lid. Even though we’re unfamiliar with this brand we’re excited about the strain as it seems to be enjoyed by home growers and long term smokers. After popping the top off we took a deep inhale and were met with a distinctly earthy spice smell with subtle hints of herbal backing it up. Definitely not strong and nothing that smelled like citrus or vanilla.
Appearance
You can tell right away this was grown in a greenhouse. In terms of appearance, the buds looked decent but we’ve seen much nicer. However they were quite spongy and sticky due to the thick layer of trichomes. The colour tones were quite muted with the greens being dark olive and the hairs being closer to brown then orange. The visual presentation of Coterie’s Mendo Breath Hybrid will not blow your socks off.
Flavour
Mendo Breath is known for a nice flavour so we were hoping Coterie’s strain made up for the mild aroma and average appearance. The smoke itself is fairly smooth, but the taste can best be described as a dank herbal combined with a stronger earthy flavour. Depending on what your preference is you may or may not enjoy this, for us it was a mixed bag of opinion so it falls again into the “just average” category.
Experience
Given the average smell, appearance and flavour we were happy Coterie’s Mendo Breath Hybrid did a better when it came to experience. This product delivered a strong high that combined the feeling of moderate mental relaxation with a sense of being physically exerted. As a result you probably want to avoid this one during the day and instead save it for your nighttime session. The price point is about $40 for 3.5 grams which makes the cost, smell, appearance and flavour all “average” with the high being above average.
