The team at DOJA describes C99 as a flower with dense buds with distinct pine and citrus flavours. The strain is grown in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley using hang drying and hand-finishing techniques.
DOJA describes the effects of C99 as being felt within seconds to minutes of smoking and can last for up to 6 hours. Some effects could last as long as 24 hours. Their description makes this sound incredible but how will C99 measure up against DOJA’s Cali Kush Cake or their Sour Kush strain?

DOJA’s C99 strain will forever be remembered but maybe not for the right reason. The product arrived in a standard small grey plastic container however opening the lid released an aroma that remind us of dirt or manure. We were expecting a sharp pine or citrus but detected neither. I don’t remember cannabis smelling like this before. There is a first time for everything folks. But this bud smelled like herbal earthy manure.
Thankfully this bud looks better than it smells! Light trichome coverage, lots of dark green leaves and brown hairs that look sticky to the touch are quite nice. The darkness of the green and brown shades gives the impression that this bud is wet or sweating, however visually it is decent.
We are very happy the only flavour we derived was a strong earthy herbal-ness from this one. Once again we were surprised not to detect any pine or citrus described by DOJA on their website. However the main thing we were picking up was the very heavy herbal/earthy flavour.
Listed with 21% THC content we found that DOJA’s C99 is a very average sativa that delivered a mild clear-minded high. This one is OK but will not “wow” you. We’re curious what other people think of this specific product so if you’ve tried it let us know in the comments.
UPDATE: C99 was the first product from this brand we reviewed and also our least favourite. It felt very average in every respect. Their Cali Kush Cake and Sour Kush are both better and DOJA’s Legendary Larry was outstanding.
I did not enjoy this one either. Not sure what you think Dave but mine kinda had a dirt flavour.
We reviewed this one a while ago, but it doesnt really stand out in my head. Assuming that is not a good thing. Thanks for the feedback Lee.
Context: I consume cannabis using various dry herb vapourizers; consequently, I value flavour highly.
Back in the day, a grower introduced me to Cinderella 99, which is another name for this strain. It was one of the finest taste experiences I have ever had. Sadly, for some reason he never grew it again. I was therefore really looking forward to trying DOJA C99.
Upon opening, I did not get the kind of smell you describe. I still have some and it has a strong odour, citrus-like and a bit sweet. You might want to try this one again because I think you (and Lee) did not get a good sample.
In comparison with the Cinderella 99 I first had, DOJA C99 was a let-down. Although it has nice flavours and decent effects, it does not have the taste explosion I was hoping for and it does not knock me on my ass either. Cinderella 99 delivered on both counts. I rate C99 slightly above average.
I “kinda-sorta-not really” remember this product, it felt very average and not really memorable. However you’re making me curious so I’m thinking we’ll try again… DOJA’s Legendary Larry was great, C99 was our least favourite I believe. But will try this again in near future. Appreciate the feedback and recommendations let me know if you have any others.
