DOJA’s Cali Kush Cake (sometimes called LA Kush Cake) is an indica-dominant strain that is created by crossing the flavourful Wedding Cake with Kush Mints.
DOJA describes this flower as having a distinct citrus aroma with a flavour profile that leads with an earthy peppery taste. The buds are dense, hard and covered in dark greens and purple with even layer of trichomes. We really liked LA Kush Cake from Natural History along with the version from Tantalus Labs, so how does DOJA’s strain compare?

Smell
We’ve reviewed several DOJA products and this one arrived just like all the others, in an industry standard grey plastic container with security lid. LA Kush Cake is a strain and smell we’re quite familiar with so we popped off the top, inhaled deeply and were met with the familiar sweet piney aroma with lemony flares that this strain produces. Even though it was not as strong as some competitors, the smell is still very pleasing.
Appearance
There’s much to say about this one. We’ll start with the obvious – stems and leaf! While stems are part of the plant, we want to see a much better trim job. Omitting the many stems, the buds themselves are tiny popcorn sized buds which honestly don’t look as good as our photos. The colours to the naked eye are dull while the photos really look like what we’d wanted to see. If this was the first time seeing this strain you might be impressed, but when you compare to others you will see what we mean.
Flavour
Luckily DOJA made up for the mediocre appearance with a delicious flavour. Although it feels like messing up the flavour on this strain is hard to do. DOJA’s Cali Kush Cake had a very strong but delicate sweet piney taste with a lemon/vanilla note that makes you want more. Great taste but also what we expected from this strain.
Experience
Cali Kush Cake had a good finish and delivered a very strong high that is mostly body focused and a moderate mental tranquil high, exactly what you want with an indica. Given the low cost of $34.97 for 3.5 grams and listed THC content of 23.2%, we feel this one offers good value. However as good as it might be, it’s not the best version of this strain we;ve seen (if price is not a concern). Overall though a solid cultivar from DOJA at a great price.
