Today we’re looking at our third Sour Kush product and hope it will be delicious because so far we haven’t found an excellent version of this strain.
Sour Kush is typically listed as a hybrid, but DOJA lists their version as indica. Either way this flower was created by crossing OG Kush with Sour Diesel and as the name suggests is known for a tangy citrus aroma. DOJA describes their Sour Kush as having dark green buds with a fruity-yet-spicy combination of aromas and flavours. This strain typically has dominant terpenes of beta-caryophyllene, myrcene, and linalool. So how does Sour Kush from DOJA compare to competing brands?
Check our review, rating and photos below.
Smell
We’ve already review a few other DOJA products and they were hit and miss. We loved Legendary Larry but disliked their C99 strain so who knows what this product has in hold. We crossed our fingers, took a deep breath and popped the lid off. Pretty much immediately our noses were hit with a strong sour citrus aroma with moderately strong undertone of earthy herbs. The earthy smell associated with Kush strains is definitely noticeable but the citrus is just a tad stronger.
Appearance
When you compare this against the other two Sour Kush products we’ve review, it’s clear DOJA looks the best. The buds are small, popcorn-sized, but very dense. Aside from a little stem and leafy dryness, they’re generally bright green with the odd specks of dark green leaf tips and bronze colour hairs. There is also a light coating of trichomes which seem to add a highlight effect.
Flavour
In terms of flavour, DOJA’s Sour Kush strain continues right along the same path as it’s aroma. From the start until the end expect a tangy sourness that is balanced with that earthy Kush herbal-ness. Even though there was no moisture shield inside the container we still found the smoke to be smooth.
Experience
Let’s get the obvious out of the way first. This is the third Sour Kush strain we’ve reviewed and so far it’s our favourite. However at the same time it’s not going to win any awards either. We just feel it’s a notch above the other brands we’ve seen. It delivered a slightly above average high which is truly enjoyable. This moderately strong high produces mild mental clarity while simultaneously creating a mild body buzz that gently relaxed the body. Given the price point of $34.95 for 3.5 grams, we feel it’s pretty good value especially if you’re looking for a half decent Sour Kush. In terms of competitors we like this flower more then Divvy’s version and even Good Supply’s.
