When we opened the tube of Double J’s Cherry Boat pre-rolled joints, a pleasant and somewhat strong sweet smell greeted us. It was a bit surprising because they usually lose their smell quickly after being packaged. But this one held up well.
Alongside the sweet smell, we noticed a gentle fruity scent that reminded us of unripe berries or cherries. It wasn’t as strong as the main smell, but we could still detect it. The combination of the sweet and fruity smells made us curious and excited to try the product.
We were impressed that the aroma stayed intact even after opening the packaging. It showed that Double J’s took care in keeping the scent fresh. This made us even more interested in what lay ahead.
Appearance
The Cherry Boat pre-rolled joints from Double J’s came in a sturdy black plastic tube. The tube had important details printed on a label, such as the brand and product name, where it was grown, and the style of cultivation. It also included useful information like the percentages of cannabinoids, weight, contact information for the grower, lot number, and the date it was packaged. Everything we needed to know was right there.
The joints themselves were rolled in thin, white rolling papers with paper filter tips. They were not tightly packed, which made us confident that they would burn well. Visually, they looked consistent and were neatly rolled, showing good craftsmanship. The overall appearance was appealing and gave a sense of quality.
Flavour
We were anticipating a sweet and fruity flavour when we lit up the Cherry Boat joint. However, after taking a few puffs, we noticed that the taste wasn’t very strong. We could detect some subtle hints of mild fruitiness and sweet musk, but it was challenging to notice them once lit. We noticed this can be a common experience with pre-rolls, except for those rare exceptions like Vibe’s Rocketman Pre-Roll, which are a cut above in terms of flavour.

Our Cherry Boat pre-rolled joints (#25 S1) from Double J’s belonged to lot number (L)BDC160 and were packaged on April 26, 2023. With a THC content of 24.1% and 3.03% terpenes, these joints were priced at $9.95 for two 1-gram joints. The affordable cost, high THC percentage, and the fact that they provided two joints for the price of one piqued our curiosity. We wondered if they could match up to the exceptional quality of Vibe’s pre-rolls that we mentioned earlier.
We were pleasantly surprised by the smoothness of the smoke. It didn’t irritate our throats much, which was a great start to the experience. The high we felt was well-balanced, offering a mix of physical relaxation without making us feel tired or inclined to sit down. Instead, it had a slightly energizing effect, making it suitable for daytime use or when you have tasks to tackle.
Considering that we had never heard of Double J’s before and the reasonable price of $5 per 1 gram joint, we believe that Cherry Boat is worth checking out, especially if you’re a fan of pre-rolls. It exceeded our expectations and left us impressed with its quality and affordability.
