Samurai Spy from the Edison Cannabis Co. is a Ninja Fruit hybrid that is suppose to have a sweet grape flavour, spicy aroma, crimson pistils and purple jade buds, heavy in THC.
With that description it’s pretty easy to see why we were so excited when Samurai Spy arrived. Plus we’ve had good experiences with Edison overall. Just like always, we reviewed it against these 4 criteria:
- Smell – How does it smell?
- Appearance – How does it look?
- Flavour – How does it taste?
- Experience – How does it smoke?
Smell
Opening the container released a fresh and earthy aroma with a hint of berry. Plus, Edison does a great job packing their product with hydration packages to conserve the terpenes and prevent the plant from drying out.
Appearance
The appearance was probably the biggest disappointment. The plant was a big stringy with many large stems. We have experience with other Edison products and have always been happy with the care they put into delivering quality but this appearance of this batch of Samuari Spy felt very average.
Flavour
The earthy aroma smelt after opening the package really become apparent when we smoked Samurai Spy. Although this is a strain of Ninja Fruit it was difficult to detect any of the sweet flavour you’d expect. Instead the taste had something closer to pine or wood.
Experience
It was OK. That how we kept describing Samurai Spy. It wasn’t terrible, it wasn’t great… it was OK. We normally love Edison but will probably pass on this one in the future.

Gonna have to try this one out.
