Jelly Rancher, sometimes called Hella Jelly, is a balanced hybrid discovered by Humboldt Seed Company through a combination of genetics from the Very Cherry and Notorious THC breeds.
In addition to its bright, fruity flavor, the sweetly named strain is reported by users to have heavily mood-altering effects that are both creative and uplifting. This particular batch was produced by Arcata-based direct-to-consumer service Flower Company for their house brand which is connected to their California cannabis delivery service… and who doesn’t like opening up the door to some fresh flowers?
Let’s see how it compares to Reveur’s Triangle Mints or the citrusy Lemonade Slusheez from LoLo.

Smell
Flower Company definitely delivered a lovely bouquet in this bag. There was an immediate strong aroma similar to grape candy when I first inhaled, this was followed by a natural juicy strawberry scent with a slight grassy edge and a touch of pine at the bottom. It finished off with a hint of a diesel undertone, but altogether this strain carried a sugary smooth and mildly tart profile.
Appearance
The buds looked good, they were big, round nugs that felt quite fresh and sticky from a healthy dusting of resin crystals. They had multiple dark shades of green that almost gave them a camouflage-like pattern and the hairs woven throughout were a deep bronze color with yellow trichomes lightly feathered around the surface, which was slightly shaggy but overall trimmed fairly well. The dense chunks remained impressively solid until broken open, revealing how soft and fluffy they were on the inside. It was definitely a nice plus to have such massive buds that still looked so impressively fresh.
Flavour
This was one of the sweetest, fruitiest strains I’ve ever had the pleasure to indulge. It started with the same vibrant grape and berry flavors, but also carried a bright floral tone that rounded out the edges of the thick candy sugar and gassy follow-up. This juicy-tasting strain was absolutely named appropriately, and it’s incredibly smooth and gratifying flavor is still making me crave more just thinking about it.
Experience
My bag was part of batch 42222FCOJR1, packaged on April 28, 2022, listed with 27.98% THC content and priced at $30 for 7 grams. I felt this hybrid leaned heavily into sativa territory, delivering a quick cerebral high that made the colors around me suddenly seem a bit more vivid for a few moments. I felt wildly imaginative and creative after smoking some of this, and the effects seemed to be pretty well sustained. It took me a while to remember that I hadn’t finished smoking yet, and it’s always a good sign when you’re not instantly rushing back to take another hit. I would highly recommend this strain for anyone needing some artistic inspiration or even just a quick sugar fix to get you through a slow afternoon, and if you get the opportunity to grab a bag of Flower Company’s version of this flavor, do yourself a favor and pluck a couple.
