We grew up on Zig Zag rolling papers because aside from Players or Rizla, I don’t remember there being a whole lot of variety at the convenience stores.
But now there’s more kinds then I can count and we’ve accumulated several boxes of different brands, sizes and types so now is a good idea to start documenting.
Today we’re reviewing The Moon Group. There’s a good chance you’ve used their papers in the past without even realizing. They do a bunch of white labelling partnerships and have a fairly extensive product line with a primary focus on the European market.
The 1 1/4″ unbleached rolling paper (the subject of this review) are for smokers who like getting lit but also care about the environment. They seem quite similar to Greengo’s Unbleached Rolling Papers.
QUALITY OF CONSTRUCTION
For some reason we envisioned a low quality product. You know the type I mean… really thick, gross paper and rotten tasting glue.
However that was not the case as we were pleasantly surprised by how much this rolling paper reminded us of the 1 1/4″ from RAW. It’s 12.5 GSM brown paper that measures 70mm x 36mm and features natural Arabic gum instead of artificial glue. Admittedly not exactly like RAW, but much closer then you might guess.
EASE OF USE
There’s not too much to get into for this part.
If you know how to roll then you’ll have no issues with these papers. However if you don’t know how then these will not make the process any better.
To sum things up, we’d say these rolling papers are as easy to use as any other papers.
OVERALL VALUE
When it comes to rolling papers, the most important thing is the burn.
Was the session nice and smooth or did you have to keep re-lighting the joint?
Of course a bad burn is not always the fault of the paper but it can certainly be a factor. That being said, we found Moon’s 1 1/4″ Unbleached Rolling Papers burned very similarly to RAW and other unbleached natural papers. I would probably not buy this brand but we wouldn’t turn them down if they were offered. They do the job.
