Original Stash’s OS.ONE Durban Poison is a landrace strain that supposedly traces it’s lineage back centuries to the modern port city of Durban.
It’s a pure sativa made popular for an uplifting high that is both energizing and creativity inducing. Users report this cultivar having a sweet and earthy smell with a distinct piney flavour whereas growers describe the buds as bright green with orange hairs and super sticky to the touch.
Naturally we’re intrigued to see how it compares to other landraces like Acapulco Gold or even Afghani Kush.

Smell
The product arrived from Original Stash in a large black plastic bag with resealable zipper opening. We must have tried to open the bag to aggressively because the zipper seals ripped right off, however smelling the contents made all the trouble worth it. Pretty much from the moment the seal was cracked we could smell a strong earthy pine aroma with a zesty undertone of citrus (lemon lime combo).
Appearance
We dumped the contents out and were disappointed to see the lack of a humidity shield. Since the flower was packaged over 4 months ago it made us concerned about the flower. The buds were small to medium in size, decently trimmed though some could have gone a second round as we saw plenty of excess stems and leaf. On a positive note, the buds were quite dense and spongy. Colour pattern follows olive green with orange brown hairs woven throughout each bud and a decent trichome layer although not as thick as you see on many other sativas.
Flavour
We hoped the flavour profile would be similar to the smell and Original Stash’s Durban Poison didn’t disappoint although the taste was a bit milder. Consistency is good but the flavour seems to fade very quickly leaving a bland earthy taste. We had a similar experience with Original Stash’s OS.Haze which is another sativa flower.
Experience
Our bag was labelled lot number (L) AAA-113714-B and packaged on March 1, 2022. Listed with 20.4% THC content and a price tag of $124.95 for 28 grams, we found Original Stash’s OS.ONE Durban Poison delivered a strong sativa experience. This flower has a reputation and with good reason as it definitely had a significant impact on us. After smoking we felt a strong mental calm with a near tunnel-like focus the next morning. The body effect we felt was minimal and started with waves of goosebumps before ending with a sleepy eye feeling. We liked this product a tad more then Original Stash’s Powdered Donuts which is also part of the OS.ONE series. So if you’re looking for a landrace sativa then this one is certainly worth checking out.
