A name like God Bud sets a pretty high expectation.
The Redecan God Bud aroma is described as being a combination of tropical, earthy and citrusy (given the rich caryophyllene terpene profile). This hybrid strain has a medium THC potency and was grown is a greenhouse under natural lighting conditions. How does God Bud compare to other products like Redecan’s Black Cherry Punch or Redecan’s Outlaw?
Redecan needs to reduce their packaging or more accurately over packaging. The product comes inside an industry standard plastic container that itself is inside a cardboard box. But there is no terpene shield or moisture pack inside the container with the plant which seems like a missed opportunity. We can only image how great God Bud would have smelled with a moisture pack but alas there was none. With all this being said, after opening the lid and taking a deep inhale, we were definitely happy with the piney aroma ending on a hint of lemon. However the pine came through the strongest.
With such a wonderful smell, there was definitely some disappointment when we poured out the contents of the container. Here’s a good example of where a little more grooming care results in a better first impression. Apart from these buds being quite dry, with quite a few of stems, and stringy, the fact they are small, dense, and have a light trichome frosting saves some face. You can definitely tell this was grown under natural light.
If you’re craving a wonderfully smooth yet prominent piney flavour then Redecan’s God Bud should get your attention. The flavour is frankly one of the best smooth piney flavours that doesn’t roast your throat at the same time. If you’re a fan of that musky pine then this one is right up your alley.
Listed with 18.2% THC content and a price tag of $24.95 for 3.5 grams, we were a bit disappointed with experience God Bud delivered and in terms of hybrids prefer Redecan’s Lilac Diesel. Prepare yourself for a mild and calming high that really would be suitable for any time of day. However like many other products from Redecan, this one would benefit by including a humidity shield inside the container.
