Today we’re reviewing a herb grinder which is good timing because the old one has earned it’s retirement.
The Kannastör grinder from RYOT features a multi-chamber design that was specifically engineered for heavy use… we’ll see about that. But they say it can take a beating and keep right on grinding. The multiple chambers prevent over-shredding as the flower falls through to the next level the moment it reaches the perfect size. forever. Given the price and solid construction this must be one of the nicer manual herb grinders so we’re curious to see how it performs.

Quality of Construction
The product arrived from RYOT in a standard cardboard box that was heavier then we expected.
In terms of construction, RYOT indicates its engineered from 60/61 hardened aluminium to improve the durability and performance. Even the screen between the second and third chamber is made of stainless steel to make cleaning easier and reduce the risk of damage.
RYOT also chemically bathes and anodizes all the aluminium parts before packaging to reduce the risk of impurities. I’m not an engineer but the quality of construction looks top notch.
Ease of Use
The Kannastör grinder is available in multiple sizes and also in a single chamber model, but I think you’d be better served picking up the multi-chamber.
The sharp and durable teeth quickly cut and the holes between the first and second level prevent over-shredding. Your top chamber is where the grinding happens, middle chamber is where the perfectly ground bud is collected and the very bottom is for the kief.
RYOT has also updated the design to now include magnets, a perfectly smooth polished base tray and deeper sifting chamber for easier pouring.
Overall Value
We ordered the 2.5″ model in Silver (they were sold out of Gunmetal) and paid $46 USD. Given the fact that RYOT gives a Limited Lifetime Warranty for things like broken teeth or other defects, that’s a pretty good deal.
I’ve been using it the last 30 days and I’m not easy on my stuff, so far it’s held up well and been pretty simple to clean. If you smoke dried flower often like us then you’re going to love this grinder.
