Sev7n Island Cherry is the second product from Sev7n we’ve reviewed and we’re crossing our fingers it’s better then the first.
We were not able to find much information about this strain, but given the visual appearance, flavour and aroma, it’s a safe bet to assume this is Black Cherry Punch under a different name. Sev7n describes their Island Cherry strain as being an indica-dominant hybrid with a high level of terpene content resulting in a delicious flavour that is similar to sweet cherries with light floral notes. So how does this product compare to other cherry strains?
Smell
The product arrived in a medium sized dark green bag with resealable zipper opening. Opening the bag immediately released a soothing smell or sweet cherry that reminded us of a powered cherry drink that made us want more. Subtle floral are also present but very much secondary to the sweet cherry.
Appearance
Visually this product is superior to the previous Sev7n strain we reviewed. Island Cherry features nice medium sized buds, good trim job, bright green colours with a spattering of orange hairs and frosty layer of trichomes. We did notice some excess leaf and stem on some of the buds but nothing major.
Flavour
The name really says it all. Island Cherry has a flavour profile that closely aligns with it’s sweet cherry aroma. When you inhale this strain you can taste the boldness of the cherry with fading hints of herbal and floral. Thankfully, this one leans into the cherry quick which we enjoy! If you’re a fan of the Black Cherry Punch strain then you’re going to like the flavour offered by this product.
Experience
Island Cherry from Sev7n is listed at $29.95 for 3.5 grams with 24.8% THC and was much more enjoyable then Sev7n’s Island Sugar strain. The high was strong and predominantly focused on the body via a dead weight relaxed feeling. The mental effect is minimal but present in the form of short attention span or easily wandering thoughts. Given the rich flavour and aroma combined with a solid high we recommend trying this one especially if you’re a fan of cherry flavoured cannabis.
