Shred’s Tangerine Machine pre-roll is pitched as a hybrid blend—though they’re keeping quiet on the exact strains used. They say it packs a mix of sweet tangerine citrus with hints of kush. More than anything, we’re curious to see how it stacks up against Shred’s Dessert Storm pre-roll or Good Supply’s Tangie Green.

Smell
When we opened up the plastic tube containing the Tangerine Machine pre-roll, we got hit with a nice wave of citrus. There’s a bit of that kush smell too, but it’s not too strong. Also less intense if compared to Shred’s Dessert Storm, but still this one had a good overall scent especially considering how quickly pre-rolls normally lose their aroma.
Appearance
The label on the front tells you all the important stuff: brand, strain, scent, cannabinoids, and how strong it is. Flip the container around and you’ll find the packaging date, lot number, and info about the producer, Organigram.
The pre-roll came in a bright orange tube, making it hard to miss. Matching it, the joint had an orange camouflage paper filter. It’s rolled in a white king size paper—could be rice or maybe thin hemp. And a heads up: it isn’t packed super tight which hopefully means a smooth, even burn. The roll itself was decent enough, we’ve seen better and we’ve seen much worse.
Flavour
After that great smell, we were ready for a big fruity taste. But truth be told, the flavour was seriously lacking. There’s a hint of fruit, but it’s really faint to the point of being non-existent. Like some other pre-rolls we’ve tried, the taste just doesn’t live up to the scent. On the plus side, it produced a clean white ash and the smoke itself was quite smooth. We hardly felt any tickle in our throats and didn’t cough much at all.
Experience
Our product was part of lot number 34957230604 with a package date of June 4, 2023. The THC levels were listed as 21.8% with a price tag of $9.30 for a 1-gram pre-roll which we were eager to see if it lived up to other offerings from Shred.
Honestly? The high was just okay. Nothing to write home about. It left us feeling a bit glued to the couch, but that’s about it. Given the promise, we were hoping for a bit more punch. If we had to choose, we’d probably lean towards picking up their Dessert Storm next time.
