If you’ve been following our rolling paper reviews then you know my preference is simple and easy to use papers.
Today we’re looking at some pre-rolled cones which really are supposed to make rolling joints as simple as possible. The product in question has a solid history and dedicated customer group. In fact, these King Size Cones from Smoking Deluxe not only are slow burning, low ash and use 13 gsm paper but also won VICE Magazine’s April ’99 “Battle of the Skins”.
Let’s see how these compare to Zig Zag’s white cones.
Check out review, rating and photos below.
QUALITY OF CONSTRUCTION
If you dig around online you’ll discover this brand has built a loyal following of customers since their VICE magazine award back in 1999.
The Deluxe King Size cones are made from ultra-fine and bleached paper that delivers on their promise of a being slow burn while creating minimal ash. Plus, each cone has been fitted with a filter which eliminates you having to add one yourself while at the same time preventing any cannabis falling out the bottom while you pack.
The paper is labelled as 13 gsm (grams per square meter) which is thicker then their Thinnest King Papers and feels similar to what you’d get from Zig Zag or Rizla.
EASE OF USE
Without a doubt, the best part of pre-rolled cones is how easy they are to prepare.
You don’t need to be an experienced roller or even know the first thing about how to roll a joint. All you need is some ground up bud, a packing tool and a little bit of patience. These King Size cones are no exception and within a few minutes you’ll have a perfectly rolled king size joint.
OVERALL VALUE
The price will vary depending on what retailer you order from as we’ve seen individual boxes priced between $3.99 and $6.99 (for 3 cones) whereas a full case might cost between $50 and $70.
Are they worth the money?
This comes down to your personal preference.
If your preferred method of consumption is joints because you can’t roll then these are perfect. Especially if you want to control what goes in (which is hard to do when buying pre-rolled joints). However on the flip side, if you have no issues rolling then you’ll more than likely prefer to save the money and just grab a pack of papers. Also if you don’t like bleached paper then you might want to check Smoking’s Brown Pre-Rolled Cones which is another natural paper product.
