Last year we reviewed Krypto Chronic #2 from Sugarbud and were pleasantly surprised.
Today we’re checking out their GMO Cookies strain which is an indica-dominant flower that was made when Girl Scout Cookies was crossed with Chemdog. Users describe the aroma as a complex combination of musty basements, savoury garlic, sweet spice and earthy herbs. Sugarbud says the nugs are long and thin, mixture of olive green and purple which is accented by the orange hairs and frosty trichome layer.
It will be interesting to see how this compares to Cali’s Garlic Cookies or Spinach’s GMO strain.

Smell
The product arrived in a round matte black glass jar that’s definitely good enough to save and reuse. We popped the seal off and peel back the paper releasing a very strong musky, garlic and diesel aroma that instantly spilled out of the jar and was followed by a lingering sweet citrus smell. We got a close, deep inhale and felt an uplifting surge of excitement. If you’re curious like we were, the terpene profile includes: Caryophyllene, Limonene, Myrcene and Pinene.
Appearance
From our experience with Sugarbud, it would seem most of their jars come packaged the same way – small little nuggets with one larger fat bud. The dark green buds were coated with a decently thick trichome layer, orange hairs and hints of purple. So far we’ve had very few complaints about the appearance of Sugarbud’s flower as it always seems to come super sticky and nicely trimmed.
Flavour
I hope you like the taste of GAS as much as we do because lighting up this strain produced a sharp punch of sweet diesel that filled our lungs, followed by an earthy exhale and a woody aftertaste. GMO Cookies definitely tastes of a perfect mix of both the strains used… Chemdawg (strong diesel flavour) and Girl Scout Cookies (sweet cake flavour).
Experience
Listed with 29.9% THC content and a price tag of $39.95 for 3.5 grams, we found Sugarbud’s GMO Cookies delivered a warm rush throughout our body, with the overwhelming sensation of relaxation. Couch-locking you, but not quite turning your mind off. This product definitely enhanced our focus to get work done, and rewarded ourselves with a nap on the come down. Overall a nice strong indica that we enjoyed more than Edison’s GMO Cookies but go easy if you have a low tolerance and be prepared with some snacks because the munchies will creep up on you.
