Sweetgrass Cannabis is a small batch organic grower near the Kootenay Mountains in British Columbia with three cultivars currently in production.
Mendoz Stomper is a hybrid strain that was created via a three-way cross of Mendo Breath, OZ Kush and Mac Stomper. They describe Mendoz Stomper as having a sweet floral gassy musk with its aroma being a sweet-sour berry gassy citrus taste. Let’s see how this compares to other hybrids like Coterie’s Mendo Breath or the delicious Black Pearl from Cake & Caviar.

Smell
When I tore away the opening strip from the mylar bag, I immediately started to smell the cannabis before seeing any buds. However once I got the bag fully opened the aroma became even stronger and reminded me of a musky dank citrus. This pungent smell stayed consistent and didn’t waver at all.
Appearance
The cultivar arrived in a standard Mylar bag with the strain name, dominant terpenes and THC content printed on the front but unfortunately no grow information was provided. Mendoz Stomper has medium green to dark green colours and there was a fair amount of dark orange pistils around the bud. From what I saw, the trichomes were robustly developed and easily visible being a milky white colour.
Flavour
The flavour of the Mendoz Stomper when consumed through a vaporizer was a lovely dank spicy citrus, with an almost liquorice aftertaste. However I would imagine that some of the liquorice taste would probably disappear or be reduced if you smoked through a bong or rolled a joint.
Experience
My bag was part of lot number 220018 with a package date of July 29, 2022. Listed with a THC percentage of 26.3% and a price tag of $52.39 for 3.5 grams, I found the high was more of an energetic slightly non focused feeling. Definitely did not feel overpowering or sedating which is good if you’re looking for a new daytime strain. That being said the price was relatively high for an eighth but it pays off because the quality and the smell of this cultivar is amazing. I would like there to be a little bit more growth information on the label and a humidity pack just to keep these excellent buds fresh as long as possible.
