BC Black has partnered with Victoria Cannabis Co. to offer a rare sativa-leaning hybrid named Mango Mac which is a cross between Mango Kush and AMG Haze.
This product is the first result of their collaboration and the company says there was some similarities with MAC-1 in addition to a loud mango aroma and flavour. This sounds like a great combination and a potentially delicious flower so let’s see how this compares to BC Black’s Pineapple Buds Pineapple Upside Down Cake.

Smell
I’ve tried many different mango strains and very few actually smell like the fruit so I was expecting the same for the strain. However when I opened the mylar bag, I was hit with a strong spicy aroma with a distinct sweet mango smell and citrus aftertaste. In fact the smell was so strong it made me double check to see if they put cannabis in the bag or slices of mango.
Appearance
This 3.5 grams arrived in a smaller black resealable mylar bag with the THC and CBD contents printed on the front along with the terpenes, lineage, and where it was grown. The buds themselves were a bright green, fairly dense but didn’t seem to have many hairs visible. However it makes up for this with the abundantly thick and well-developed trichome layer.
Flavour
I consumed this 3.5 grams first in a volcano vaporizer and what stood out about the flavour was a sort of spicy mango taste with secondary hints of a wood. Then I rolled a joint and this was when I found the mango flavours stand out a little bit more and loses some of the spicy taste but gains more of a woodsy taste.
Experience
My bag was part of lot CC18JUL2022.003 with a package date of July 18, 2022. It was listed with 27.1% THC content at $37.99 for 3.5 grams, which I found a bit expensive but the high was not overwhelmingly strong and did include a slight euphoric feeling. While the price point is higher then some would be willing to pay, I think you’re paying for craft quality and the buds are quality. That being said, since it’s a local craft product from Victoria, I’m not sure if it’s widely available across the country or just here in British Columbia.
