Versus is a budget brand we stumbled across while searching for new products to review.
Their Super Lemon Haze is a sativa-dominant strain that was bred from Lemon Skunk and Super Silver Haze. Users describe it as having a zesty, citrusy aroma and a sour lemon flavour profile with a slightly sweet finish. The buds are reported to be dense, dark green with a moderately thick layer of trichomes.
So how does it compare to competitors like RIFF’s DT81 or Solei’s Super Lemon Haze.

Smell
The product arrived in a large industry standard white plastic pouch with resealable zipper opening. We expected a citrusy lemon smell but upon opening the bag it didn’t reveal much of anything. So we took a big inhale and could only detect a very mild lemony citrus aroma but it was so faint it was hard to even notice.
Appearance
After dumping out the contents of the bag we noticed no humidity shield had been included which likely explains the lack of smell. The buds were small to medium sized and very dry but at the same time neatly trimmed. The complexion was a light grass green with dark green freckles, a few vein like brown hairs, and a very light coating of trichomes.
Flavour
After rolling up Versus’ Super Lemon Haze, the first thing we noticed on inhale was an intense dank herbal that kind of surprised us and was a bit harsh at first before fading to a subtle lemon note. We feel if this bud had been fresher then the flavour, smell and even the smoke would be more enjoyable.
Experience
Listed with 17.8% THC content and price tag of $114.95 CAD for 28 grams, we found Super Lemon Haze from Versus to be a decent sativa if you have a very low THC tolerance. It’s definitely a sativa leaning experience with an overall soft impact. The mental effect generates a sense of alertness yet calm and mellow feeling while leaving your body nearly unaffected with slightly glassy eyes. It’s pleasing but short lived if you have a moderate to high THC tolerance. That being said if you’re looking for something light during the day then this one could be worth trying.
