Grasslands is a cannabis brand focused on budget products and is part of Sundial Growers based in Calgary.
We were unable to find out much about this product except the fact it’s a sativa blend of moderate strength that is sold for under a hundred dollars for 28 grams. Grasslands also indicates on their website that this flower is machine-trimmed, hand-groomed and dried on a rack and tray.

The product arrived in a larger sized white plastic container with security top. We popped the lid off, inhaled deeply and detected a pretty strong aroma that aligned perfectly with this company’s name. The best comparison would be a straw grass field with some very subtle hints of floral.
We were curious if Grasslands would include a humidity shield, but unfortunately they did not which meant the buds had pretty much dried out. However they were quite solid and had a nice colour pattern that ranged several shades of green and the rusty orange brown hairs. On some of the larger buds it was easy to see the trichomes glistening when you held them up to the light.
Unfortunately the dryness of this product negatively affected the flavour or what was left of it. Everyone agreed it was a very bland flavour and tasted closer to dried grass then skunky herb. However at this budget price point maybe aroma and flavour should be secondary concerns.
Listed with 18.1% THC content and a price tag of $99.95 for 28 grams, we found Sativa from Grasslands offered decent value if you’re not put off by dry bud. After smoking it, we found it delivered a clear and relaxing cerebral high with a slight physical tingling localized around the eyes. However this effect still felt calming, not tiring and had no impact on my ability to focus. A decent sativa high just be aware of the shortcomings mentioned above.
