Pure Hemp’s classic 1 1/4 papers give you some extra room which is the perfect space to add a filter or just a larger joint to enjoy with friends.
They’re made in Spain by Miquel y Costas, a centuries old company that’s behind many other rolling paper brands like Smoking Papers. It will be interesting to see how these compare to both Pure Hemp’s classic regulars and their unbleached.

QUALITY OF CONSTRUCTION
Pure Hemp was founded with the goal of creating a tree-free alternative to traditional rolling papers and they certainly have achieved that goal.
Even though they describe their paper as ultra-thin we think it feels thicker compared to traditional tree-paper companies like Zig-Zag. Pure Hemp does indicate they’re using 13 GSM (grams per square meter) which definitely would be classified a lighter weight paper.
Plus the vegan gum line is made from African acacia trees to make sure you don’t ingest artificial adhesives.
EASE OF USE
Like I say often, larger papers make rolling a lot easier.
So when you compare these 1 1/4 to the classic regular size you’re going to find these a bit easier to use because they offer more room. Go up another level and you’ll find king size papers are even easier.
However like I mentioned earlier because this brand uses a hemp paper the end result is a durable wrap that seems to hold up well against tearing or ripping which is a big positive. Also if you’re looking to spice things up by adding concentrated extracts like rosin to your joint these would work nicely.
OVERALL VALUE
Pure Hemp sells their Classic 1 1/4 rolling papers directly from their website for $32 (USD) a box. This was a nice change because several of the brands we’ve reviewed recently don’t sell direct so you have to purchase through third parties online. Pure Hemp’s box has 25 booklets with 50 leaves inside each booklet.
In terms of overall value, some of this is subjective and really comes down to the personal preference of the user. If you prefer a slightly thicker paper or one made from hemp instead of trees then you’ll find this brand offers good value. But if you’re preference is very thin rolling paper like Smoking’s Thinnest for example, then you’ll probably find Pure Hemp just a slight bit too thick.
