Pure Sunfarms Blue Dream is a fruity sativa-dominant strain that was created by crossing Blueberry with Haze.
This strain has dominant terpenes that include myrcene, alpha-pinene, and caryophyllene. This combination produces hints of blueberry, citrusy lemon, pine needles and even an undertone of black pepper. Blue Dream’s buds are known for being frosty but light and fluffy while being covered sage green leaves and bright orange hairs. We’ve enjoyed a number of Pure Sunfarms products with their Blueberry Kush being the most tasty.
We’re curious about how this strain compares to other brands like Aurora’s Blue Dream or the flavourful Blue Dream from Spinach.
Smell
The product arrived in a small green bag with resealable top. When we opened the package and inhaled, we detected a moderately strong aroma that was complex and contained several different smells including a sour pine upfront followed by a sweeter berry the longer you inhale.
Appearance
Visually this product is pretty much exactly how Pure Sunfarms described. There’s no denying the vibrant colours of these spongy yet very light and fluffy buds. Super bright greens and light orange hairs combined with a good amount of trichomes makes these buds look more potent then the listed 16.4% THC.
Flavour
The flavour profile was a tad stronger than the aroma but not by much. At the start of the session we detected a sour lemon and blueberry flavour with emphasis on sour. However that initial flavour was balanced out by a softer and sweeter berry taste that held its own until the end.
Experience
Listed with 16.4% THC content and a price tag of $22.95 for 3.5 grams, we found this Blue Dream to be an enjoyable sativa from Pure Sunfarms. It’s interesting that this bud produces a very mild almost negligible body buzz with intense focus on a strong mentally energizing high that makes you feel ready to bring your best. This one can definitely be consumed during the day without worrying too much about it impacting your routine. That is unless you have a very low tolerance. Given the low price point this is a solid product if you’re looking for a moderately strong sativa. All that being said, we still prefer Sundial’s Blue Nova just a bit more.
