Blue Nova from Sundial is described as having a sweet berry aroma, sugary flavour and dense buds with a sticky layer of trichomes.
Although sold under the brand name Blue Nova, the actual strain name is Blue Dream, a sativa-dominant plant that was created by crossing Blueberry with Haze. Sundial states this product produces a balanced high and averages 18% THC, making it a favourite of both new and veteran cannabis consumers. We reviewed Sundial’s Strawberry Twist and thought is was just okay. So how does their Blue Nova compare?

Smell
Today is a bright day thanks to Sundial’s Blue Nova strain that arrived in very bright yellow container. Opening the top released a strong sweet aroma with hints of sour citrus. You can definitely detect the hints of sweet berry but there a subtle tang under the surface which you don’t pick up on right away.
Appearance
Photogenic for sure. The Blue Nova buds look as though they’re covered in sugar except its trichomes! Visually the buds looked great with their beautiful green tones coupled nicely with orange hairs that pop against the bright green background. We noted all the buds were approximately the same size as well.
Flavour
Blue Nova’s flavour was a bit of a let down. The initial sweet taste disappeared quickly while a much more dominant sour lemon flavour became more prevalent. The smoke was pretty smooth as well but we definitely preferred the smell opposed to the taste.
Experience
Listed with 21.9% THC content, Sundial’s Blue Nova is solid sativa that delivered a strong but very balanced high. We found after smoking this bud our minds remained quite alert and clear while feeling a moderately strong body high. Using Blue Nova and staying functional would not be hard particularly if you’re a veteran smoker. This makes Blue Nova a good early or mid day smoke if you want to avoid that burned out feeling. This product is worth checking out as we prefer it over both Aurora’s Blue Dream and Pure Sunfarms Blue Dream.
