Cactus Black Triangle is an indica-dominant cannabis strain that is known for its relaxing and sedative effects. This flower was created by crossing Triangle Kush and 88 G13 Hashplant. It’s known for its sweet, earthy and vanilla aromas and flavours, with a sour undertone. It’s a potent strain with effects that can be quite powerful and sedative, making it a good option for those looking for relief from chronic pain, insomnia, and stress.
Now that you know what Black Triangle is typically like, let’s take a closer look at this specific product and see if it lives up to the reputation. We also want to compare it with other Kush strains like Pink Kush from San Rafael 71.
Smell
The Black Triangle strain from Cactus was presented in a sleek black container with a secure lid, upon opening the lid a subtle floral aroma wafted out, followed by a hint of sour bread. The aroma was subtle yet inviting, making us anticipate the taste and effects of the strain.
Appearance
Upon inspection of the container, we were impressed by the clear and concise labelling on the front, showcasing the brand, product name and THC/CBD content. The back of the container provided essential information such as contact details, weight, lot number, and packaged date. While we found the information to be informative, we would have appreciated details about the terpenes, plus it would be nice to know what the dominant terpenes were in this flower and harvest date for a more comprehensive understanding of the product. In terms of the buds, they were well-trimmed and varied in size from small to medium. They had a beautiful layer of trichomes that were easily spotted and had a dense, dry texture. The pistil hairs were barely visible, revealing an array of bright and medium green colours.
Flavour
We had the pleasure of trying the Black Triangle strain in various methods, both as a rolled joint, and in a new glass pipe. The inhale was met with the subtle floral notes that we had detected in the aroma upon opening the container, but on exhale, we were greeted with a unique bread-like note with a slight sour undertone that added depth to the overall experience. The flavours were not overpowering but rather a subtle enhancement to the overall experience.
Experience
This batch of Black Triangle from Cactus was packaged on October 11, 2022 and was part of lot number 2210040013. Listed with 30.32% THC content and a price tag of $32.95 for 3.5 grams, we found this strain was much weaker then expected. Although the THC percentage was quite high (over 30%), we found the effects of this strain to be much milder and disappeared completely rather fast. The high was moderate in strength and provided a relaxed, glassy-eyed feeling with minimal mental stimulation. We were disappointed by the lack of potency, despite the high THC content.
