San Rafael ’71 Pink Kush is an indica strain with a genetic connection to the widely popular OG Kush.
The majority of users describe it having a fresh lemony aroma with a spicy lavender undertone which is produced from the dominant terpenes being limonene, caryophyllene and linalool. Growers indicate the buds are typically dense, medium to large in size, dark green with deep purple hues, orange hairs and a thick layer of trichome crystals.
We reviewed Pink Kush from Pure Sunfarms a while back so it will be interesting to see how this product compares.

Smell
The product arrived in the same blue plastic container as San Rafael’s Stonefruit Sunset strain. We popped off the security lid and were instantly meet with a strong and pleasant smell. It was made up of the unique combination of sweet floral, lemony citrus and a earthy herbal that all together strangely reminded us of pink lemonade.
Appearance
We dumped out the contents and noticed the flower was packaged in January 2022 making it 4 months old but they did include a humidity shield inside the container in an effort to keep the bud fresh. In terms of size, the nugs were medium in size, fluffy, dark green with a few purple leave tips and embedded with dark orange hairs and a thick trichome layer. On the negative side it was quite dry even with the humidity shield and noticeably leafy. It probably could have go another round with the trimmer.
Flavour
The flavour profile was pretty much in alignment with the aroma. When inhaling there was a mild but notable citrusy floral taste that disappeared on exhale and was replaced by a similarly mild herbal note. The smoke itself was harsh which is likely the result of the dryness and excess leaf.
Experience
Our bag was part of lot number 1104922000524 and packaged on January 10, 2022. Listed with 22.9% THC content and a price tag of $32.95 for 3.5 grams, we found San Rafael ’71 has again delivered a good overall experience with this Pink Kush. Expect a moderate mental cloud that creates abstract focus combined with a moderately strong body buzz that felt like goosebumps being triggered from head to toe. If you’re a fan of Pink Kush then this version from San Rafael should be right up your alley.

Early in legalization, the SR71’s were a bit more money but they were good. Then the percentages and the quality started going down. I finished a 16.6% of the SR71 Pink Kush a short while ago and it was terrible, stemmy quality. Low to mid potency as well.
It looks like since Aurora took over the SR71 brand that quality has improved. I’ve got a newer Delahaze and it’s awesome. Cheers.
