Redecan Cold Creek Kush is a hybrid strain that was created by crossing MK Ultra and Chemdawg 91.
Popular because of it’s high THC content, dank smell and dense buds that are covered in frosty trichomes with amber hairs. In terms of flavour profile, most users report a strong herbally, earthy and woody taste with hints of fresh pine. These aromas and flavours are created by a terpene profile that includes beta-pinene, nerolidol, trans-caryophyllene, linalool and limonene.
So how does this flower from Redecan compare to competitors like UP’s Cold Creek Kush or the Redees Cold Creek Kush pre-rolls?
Smell
The product arrived in Redecan’s typical double package, their over-packaging is a story for another day. Anyways, we cracked the lid off their Cold Creek Kush container and were met by a earthy mud aroma mixed with herbally pine. Pretty much exactly what you would expect from this strain and why we call it “mud bud”.
Appearance
The contents rattled a lot and at first we did not know why. However when we dumped out the jar we saw a large amount of tiny twigs with a touch of bud on each. To our complete disbelief, every bud was on a stick. If anyone offered you this in a bag you’d decline and say “I’ll try elsewhere”. This flower looks like it came from trim tray leftovers opposed to actual bud. Very poor appearance.
Flavour
At least the flavour profile was not a big disappointment. Cold Creek Kush is a distinct enough strain to be recognized. Best described as sweet earthiness with a touch of herbal ultimately giving it a flavour that matches the aroma. Like cold mud and surprisingly good as weird as it may sound. However since no humidity pack was included the bud was very dry and a bit harsh to smoke.
Experience
Listed with 20.9% THC content and a price tag of $23.65 for 3.5 grams, we found Redecan’s Cold Creek Kush delivered a strong high that felt more like an indica regardless of what’s listed on the package (label says sativa-dominant). It produced a state of mild mental relaxation coupled with that “heavy eyes” feeling and a strong body buzz experience (like when your foot starts falling asleep). Overall we prefer Redecan’s Outlaw strain and their Black Cherry Punch over this product. In terms of competitors we think Cold Creek Kush from UP is a better version of this strain.
