Big Budda Cheese (sometimes called BBC) is an indica-leaning hybrid that was created by crossing an Afghani cultivar with the pungent Cheese strain.
This flower is one of the more popular Cheese variants because of it’s high THC percentage, sweet yet funky cheese aroma and pungent flavour profile. Cali reports the buds are hand trimmed, very dense, spade shaped with bright green leaves and orange hairs. We’re curious how this product stacks up to Cali’s Garlic Cookies or Tweed’s Balmoral (another Cheese strain).

Smell
The product arrived in an industry standard black plastic container with security lid. We cracked off the top and got smoked by a strong aroma of stinky feet and sweet cheese! This one definitely has a pungent smell that will turn some people off, however if you like Cheese strains then this one is right up your alley.
Appearance
We dumped out the contents and were happy to see Cali included a humidity shield. The buds were all small to medium in size and were very nicely trimmed with almost no extra leaf. The colours included a light green base with darker green leaves and orange hairs spread out across the flower. The trichome layer is present but not heavy enough for the buds to glisten in the light.
Flavour
Given the pungent aroma we expected something similar for the flavour, however the taste was considerably less pronounced. While not intense by any criteria, we still detected a mild rich cheese note on inhale and exhale that remained present but was not overpowering.
Experience
Listed with 24.1% THC content and a price tag of $32.95 for 3.5 grams, we found Cali’s Big Budda Cheese was really Gouda! The strong aroma created a memorable experience as what seemed off putting initially ended up becoming quite enjoyable. The high included a mild mental calmness that was combined with a moderately strong body buzz as if you’re soaking in a hot bath. Overall very enjoyable given the cost but we still prefer Cali’s Pink Diamonds and their 9 lb Hammer.
