We’ve reviewed a bunch of different Edison products and so far it’s been a mixed bag of results. Some of strains like their Black Cherry Punch were amazing but others… such as Samurai Spy were not impressive.
So it will be quite interesting to see how their hybrid Chemdog performs. As mentioned above, this flower is a hybrid strain that Edison describes as having a spicy citrus undertone with fruity aroma. The buds are a range of violet-green that are tall tapered, trichome covered and high levels of THC. Edison says that each Chemdog plant is grown in customized micro-climates to ensure consistent quality.
This sounds like it should be great. But how does Chemdog measure up?

Smell
Edison Cannabis Co is always good about including a moisture pack inside the container. It always keep the bud fresh and the smell strong. So we were ready for what was to come, or so we thought! Opening the lid released a smell we were not prepared for, it was a strong odour of warm spices. It reminded me of the aroma a spice rack gives off. We definitely did not detect any citrus undertones and were not fans of it. For some reason each time I smell this product it makes me think of spices or mustard and not cannabis.
Appearance
Truth be told, the pictures look better than this bud did. The buds were small, stringy, spongy and had trichomes that were furry like peach fuzz. The best part captured of this bud is the popping orange hairs. Overall appearance could be described as average. However the buds were not dry as Edison always includes a moisture pack in their containers.
Flavour
With Chemdog you taste what you smell. Similar to how the aroma has a very spicy smell the flavour could best be described as a warm domestic beer. The spice is strong in this one.
Experience
The high from Edison’s Chemdog is pretty strong and focused on the body heavily. Smoking it left us feeling a bit fatigued and with dry mouth. However we were still clear-minded enough to enjoy some much needed munchies. Given the low price the overall buzz is pretty good. But if we had to pick our favourite hybrid, we’d choose Edison’s MAC 1 strain over this one.
