Today we’re reviewing a product form Highly Dutch Organic which is a brand owned by TGOD.
From what we can tell, their Amsterdam Sativa is a version of the Sour Flower strain. This flower is well known for producing high amounts of THC, sweet floral flavours and light coloured buds. Highly Dutch grows their products organically to minimize any harmful compounds entering the cultivation process. Of course this sounds nice, but the real question is how does Amsterdam Sativa compare against other similar strains?

Smell
This is our first experience with the Highly Dutch Organic brand, however we’ve reviewed TGOD’s Gorilla Glue #4 and gave it a 7 out of 10. Highly Dutch’s flower arrived in a bright cyan coloured bag with resealable zipper opening. When tore into the package and could tell immediately the aroma was not strong. The smell reminded us of sweet flowers with an herbal undertone. Pretty average overall in terms of the aroma.
Appearance
First things first, it was good to see Highly Dutch include a humidity/moisture pack inside the bag. For sure this helped keep the buds a bit fresher then they likely would have been. We noted good trichome coverage on the spongy medium sized buds, but at the same time we also noticed a lot of excess leaf. These buds could use a second or better trim job for sure. The appearance is nothing spectacular as it has that rougher outdoor greenhouse look.
Flavour
We expected a flavour profile similar to the herbally floral we smelled, but when we began smoking the taste took us by a bit of a surprise. The flavour itself was not really strong (much like the aroma) but during the first few exhales we detected a hint of citrus lemon that quickly developed a peppery aftertaste. Unfortunately we did not get much of that sweet floral described by Highly Dutch.
Experience
In terms of overall experience, Highly Dutch Organic’s Amsterdam Sativa is an average product. We found it only delivered a very mild mental high with a stronger then expected body buzz. Listed at 25.6% THC content with 3.5 grams being sold for $29.95 we feel that is reasonable. However even with the low price point, you have better options out there if you want a sativa. Overall we actually preferred Highly Dutch’s Rotterdam Indica a bit more then this one.
