Purple Aya (also called Purple Ayahuasca) is a famous indica-dominant strain best known for its vibrant purple leaves, frosty trichomes, and dense buds.
It was created by crossing Master Kush with Red River Delta (that later is believed to now be an extinct species). Blending these two strains ended up creating the stunning appearance so commonly associated with Purple Ayahuasca. In terms of smell and flavour, you can expect a blend of papaya, sour, and earthy aromas. So how does Seleste’s Purple Aya compare to similar strains like Muskoka Grown’s Rockstar?

Smell
This is our first experience with Seleste and hopefully a positive one. The product arrived in an industry standard black bag with zipper seal top. We ripped this bag open and wow… the aroma was great! A strong sweet fruity flavour sprung from the bag making a great first impression. It was the type of smell that made us want to stick our whole head in the bag.
Appearance
Off the get go these popcorn-sized nuggets are very dense like pebbles and compact. A closer look at the buds highlights the density which almost resembles interwoven fibres. With the marbling seen here from the orangey-brown hairs there are also trichomes lightly covering throughout. Visually this product looks great and matches the description of Purple Ayahuasca quite well.
Flavour
Purple Aya is quite delectable. Its flavour profile is a combo of purple grapes with thick floral musk which includes a kick of black pepper right at the end. Unique and tasty. We really enjoyed the flavour of this strain, it maintains a pleasant taste pretty much from start to end.
Experience
Despite our high tolerance here at Merry Jade, this package was labelled 26.0% so we were expecting a punch. However it sure didn’t feel like 26% THC. The high delivered a surprisingly mild feeling of being stoned with a very mild body buzz, but you’re still completely functional and aware. We can’t help but wonder if this bud was harvested a bit early which may explain its weaker than expected performance. Our package was part of lot number PA9318 and give the low price point we still recommend giving this one a try, just be aware the potency might not be as advertised.
