We’ve reviewed quite a few Kush strains and are always excited to check out a new one.
Tantalus Labs describes their LA Kush Cake as delivering a classic kush flavour of diesel, mixed with some subtle sour notes. On their website the flower is described as being dense green with purple specks and true to its name… the buds are caked up with a frosty layer of trichomes.
So how does Tantalus’ version compare to Natural History’s LA Kush Cake or Thumbs Up Brand’s variety? Check our review, rating and photos below.
Smell
The product arrived in the industry standard white plastic container with security lid. We popped the top off and were met with a sour citrusy aroma with that reminded us of a pound cake. We didn’t pick much of the diesel smell indicated in the product’s description. However we’re not complaining, the LA Kush Cake aroma is nice.
Appearance
A picture says a thousand words. We found the plant had dried out quite a bit and there was shake and broken leaf at the bottom of the container. This wasn’t a pleasing sight but that aside from the dryness these buds had some interesting dark green and purple colours and a nice frosting of trichomes.
Flavour
LA Kush Cake has a wonderfully delicious flavour. The flavour is on point with the smell as both deliver an experience that reminds us of lemon pound cake. This is a great tasting product that maintains it’s flavour throughout the majority of the smoking session.
Experience
Super impressive! Listed as having 20.8% THC content, we found it delivered a very strong mind and body buzz dominates the experience with a short attention span. Beware as this isn’t suitable for beginners. LA Kush Cake from Tantalus Labs is one you should try if you like strong indicas with a lemony profile.
