Fraser Valley Weed Co’s MAC 1 is a hybrid strain that was created by crossing the popular Alien Cookies F2 with Miracle 15.
It’s described as having round dense buds that are covered in frosty trichomes while emitting a citrusy, earthy, gassy aroma and flavour profile. Limonene is one of the dominant terpenes so expect the citrus element to stand out the most. Plus, you can’t get small amounts from this brand, only 1 ounce bags are available but it’s hard to beat their price. In fact, is this price too good to be true for the MAC 1 strain?
Let’s find out and compare to competitors like Citizen Stash’s MAC 1 or even MAC 1 from Carmel.

Smell
We tore open the bag however before the seal was full cracked we could detect hints of citrus. Once fully open to the air the smell became very strong and did not decrease much until we resealed the bag. Comparable to a strong creamy zest of lemon with an undertone of peels, after removing the buds from the bag the smell seemed to become a little weaker… that was until the flower was ground up! If the intensity had stayed consistent without cracking the buds we would have scored high 8s.
Appearance
They did not include a humidity shield which was a little disappointing because the buds could have been fresher. In terms of size, they were a mix of small to medium size nugs that had been nicely trimmed and had many super tiny specs of dark green against a white trichome layered light green backdrop with a few brown hairs that were melted throughout. Very dense and compact with some sponginess which could have been improved if they included some type of humidity guard.
Flavour
The intensity of the flavour had a similar punch to when we cracked open the buds. We rolled up a nice sized joint and noted a very strong flavour that was dominated by a sharp citrus taste almost like a bitter lemonade with a secondary undertone of earthy black pepper or gas which seems to build in harshness on the throat the more you smoked.
Experience
Our bag was part of lot 02354 with a package date of September 21, 2022. It was listed with 19.99% THC content and had a price tag of $99.95 for 28 grams which was a good deal considering the strain. We felt Fraser Valley’s MAC 1 offers great value for the price as it delivered a very balanced experience that included a pleasing relaxed physical state combined with a mild yet mentally alert focus. MAC 1 is definitely one of our favourite strains and might become one of yours too. If you’re trying to pick a new strain and looking for something balanced and affordable then I can’t imagine you’d go wrong with this product.
