Drift Alien Cake 3030 is a sativa-dominant hybrid that was created by crossing the classic OG Kush with the potent MAC (Miracle Alien Cookies) strain.
It’s known for having medium-sized, light-green buds with purple streaks and high trichome density, Alien Cake 3030 produces a very strong aroma that gets described as lemony citrus, cake, cream cheese, pine and even ammonia – thanks largely to its primary terpenes: trans-caryophyllene, terpinolene and limonene.
We want to see how it compares with strains like Ice Cream Cake or Wedding Cake.
Smell
The product arrived from Drift in a medium size bright blue bag with resealable opening. The moment we broke the seal the bag released an immediate but brief sweet floral aroma. One of those pre-smells that tells you something good is coming. As we parted the seal we were gob-smacked at how strong and wonderful the smell was which reminded us of a lime pie with hint of pine.
Appearance
We dumped out the contents and were surprised to find no humidity shield inside the bag because the aroma was so potent. The buds ranged from small to medium in size, had a few dark green leaves and the odd bit of stem but were coated in a heavy sticky trichome layer. The downside was the dry state of the flower which required us to handle the nugs with care as they would crumble easily.
Flavour
Given how potent the aroma was when we opened the bag, we were hoping for a similar experience with the flavour. But that was not meant to be which could be due to the dry condition of the buds as it was nowhere near the same intensity. That being said, the flavour was consistent with a sweet lime primary and pine-like undertone which combined is delicious.
Experience
Listed with 24.2% THC content and a price tag of $28.95 for 3.5 grams, we found Drift’s Space Cake 3030 provided a strong cerebral high. However that being said, we still felt clear minded while also experiencing a strong but relaxing body vibe like being slightly sleepy or having heavy eye lids. We definitely prefer this strain over Solei’s Chocolate Cheesecake and Qwest’s Papaya Cake. This felt like sativa-leaning opposed to a straight up sativa but overall quite enjoyable especially with the price being under thirty dollars.
