Papaya Cake from Qwest is a hybrid strain that was created by crossing Papaya with Wedding Cake.
Known for it’s relaxing and soothing effects, this strain produces a flavour profile similar to tart lemons, overly ripe mango and black bananas which might sound a bit odd but this combination of aromas works quite well together. In terms of appearance, Qwest says the buds are frosty, triangular shaped and range in colour from bright to deep green with the occasional specks of mauve all wrapped up in bright coloured hairs.
Papaya Cake is listed with 23.7% THC and a price of $44.94 for 3.5 grams, how does is stack up to other hybrids like Qwest’s Banana OG?

Smell
We’ve reviewed several other products from Qwest’s collection and enjoyed their Sunset Mac and Point Break strains but thought Stuffed French Toast was a bit overpriced. So we’re optimistic Papaya Cake will be another winner. The product arrived in a small glass jar with resealable top. We opened their cyan-coloured container and detected a very subtle yet pleasing overly ripe fruity aroma. Pretty much the smell we were told to expect, it just wasn’t very strong.
Appearance
Qwest always includes a humidity/moisture pack inside their containers and this strain was no exception. As a result the buds were still quite fresh and spongy feeling. However they did look quite stringy and fluffy, with only a thin layer of trichomes. The colours are overall bright tones with the light orange hairs almost blending into the the bright green leafage if not for traces of dark green tips.
Flavour
The flavour profile surprised us a little. While our noses continued to enjoy the subtle over ripe fruit aroma, the flavour seemed to combine that fruity primary with a subtle vanilla cake undertone. Each time we inhaled our senses seem a bit confused trying to identify what we were tasting, however in this case that was a good thing.
Experience
Listed with 23.7% THC content we found Papaya Cake from Qwest was a decent hybrid although the price is too much for the quality delivered. This strain created a strong body buzz with muscular lethargy while still including a mild to moderate mental high which installed a sense of relaxation and ease. Overall we found the high pleasant, but it did not seem to last very long.
