Monkey Butter by Good Supply is an indica-dominant strain that packs a punch with its high THC content. This hybrid flower is the result of crossing GG#4 and Peanut Butter Breath, resulting in a potent and flavourful product. With dominant terpenes of beta-caryophyllene, cedrene, and humulene, Monkey Butter boasts a nutty aroma with earthy and woodsy notes. Its compact light green buds, amber pistils, and milky trichomes make for a visually stunning experience.
Let’s see how this one compares to Good Supply’s Monkey Glue or the fruity Orange Monkey by Liiv.

Smell
Upon opening the resealable bag of Good Supply’s Monkey Butter, the subtle nutty aroma immediately caught our attention. At first, it was difficult to pinpoint the exact scent, but upon taking a few deeper sniffs, the aroma became reminiscent of fresh peanut shells. We found it fascinating this cultivar had such a unique and unexpected aroma, which is not commonly found in other strains. The nuttiness was not overpowering but instead lingered gently beneath the surface. We were intrigued by the distinct scent and eager to see how it would translate into the flavour of the smoke. The pleasant and subtle aroma left us eager to roll up a joint and indulge in this intriguing strain.
Appearance
The lime green bag provided by Good Supply only provided basic details such as brand name, product name, type, weight, THC and CBD content, packaged date, and lot number. They did include a humidity shield n the bag which seemed to help keep the buds fresh.
In terms of the flower itself, we were a little disappointed, as all of the nugs were small or tiny. While this may be acceptable for some, customers purchasing an ounce may expect at least a few decent-sized colas and larger buds. We feel that the bag should explicitly state the presence of only small buds to help customers make an informed purchase. Despite this, upon closer examination, the buds are well-trimmed, adorned with brown pistil accents, and glistening with a shiny layer of trichomes, creating a visually stunning effect against the light green background with dark green speckles. Although the buds were disappointing, the overall appearance was appealing, making up for that shortcoming.
Flavour
Our preferred method for testing is rolling a joint using hemp rolling papers. This allows us to enjoy the full spectrum of flavours and aromas without any additional interference. It is exactly what we did with the Monkey Butter sample, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the aroma profile translated so thoroughly into the flavour profile. Upon taking our first puff, we were immediately hit with a robust, nutty flavour that persisted throughout the joint. The flavour was rich and full-bodied, with an earthy undertone that complemented the nuttiness. On both the inhale and exhale, we could taste a modest yet notable flavour of peanut skins.
As we continued to smoke the joint, the flavour profile developed further, revealing more depth and complexity. We could detect subtle earthy and woody undertones, which added a nice balance to the overall flavour. The nutty taste remained dominant, but it was complemented by a slight sweetness that emerged towards the end of the joint. The smoke was smooth and easy on the throat, making for a pleasant smoking experience. The flavour of Monkey Butter was distinct and enjoyable, offering a unique twist on the classic cannabis flavour profile.
Experience
Our bag was part of lot number 3101726569 with a package date of October 26, 2022. We purchased 28 grams for $114.95 (you can also get 3.5 grams for $17.95), which we felt was a reasonable price given the comparable options. Upon opening the bag, we were immediately greeted by a distinct nutty aroma that was quite intriguing. While we couldn’t quite determine the exact type of nut, it definitely had a rich, earthy quality that carried over to the flavour.
Rolling a joint with the cannabis, we were pleased to find that the nutty aroma translated so thoroughly into the flavour profile. On both the inhale and exhale, we could taste a modest yet notable flavour of nuts that complemented the earthy notes nicely. However, what really stood out to us was the overall experience. With a mild physical tingle that spread evenly throughout the body and no noticeable mental impact, this was a perfect strain for unwinding throughout the day while still remaining productive. Overall, we were very satisfied with our purchase and would definitely consider buying it again in the future.
