Fruit Cake from Natural History is a hybrid strain that was created when Cookies & Cream was crossed with Plum Wine.
One of the striking things about this cultivar is the colour pattern which ranges from deep purple to dark green including a thick layer of amber trichomes. In terms of the aroma and flavour profile, this flower is suppose to deliver a spicy almost peppery taste with softer undertones of tropical fruit like pineapple, mango and grapefruit. All of this thanks largely to the dominant terpenes being beta-myrcene, limonene, trans-caryophyllene and linalool.
This sounds wonderful but how does this product compare to Natural History’s LA Kush Cake or even their Crescendo strain?

The product arrived in the same glossy black plastic bag as previous Natural History products. We tore open the package and initially had trouble trying to pinpoint the smell as it wasn’t very strong or specific. However after studying for a bit we determined it was something close to a sweet grapefruit with a distinct touches of black pepper. Not far off the description provided by the brand (and a humidity shield was included in the bag), we just didn’t find it very strong.
From the aroma we would never have guessed what was about to come out of the bag. The first thing we said after dumping the contents out was “Wow, those look crazy”. Immediately the thick layer of mustard or amber trichomes catches your eye and makes you realize these buds are more purple then green. Dense but still spongy and marble sized left us very little to complain about in terms of Fruit Cake’s appearance. It looks potent.
When it comes to Fruit Cake’s flavour profile, we found the taste to be stronger than the aroma. It definitely leads with the citrus but also shares the spotlight with a moderate black pepper. The combination of these two was pleasant and overall a pretty consistent smooth smoke.
Listed with 25.4% THC content and a price tag of $39.95 for 3.5 grams, we found Natural History’s Fruit Cake packed a nice wallop. It delivered a strong heavy eyes and body feeling that was accompanied by an equally strong mental cloud creating a sleepy sensation making this a great nap time toke. For daytime use, you just might want to go easy if you have a lower THC tolerance. Overall we really liked this product except the price, so if you’re looking for a great looking hybrid that delivers a strong balanced high, then you might want to check this one out.
