Delta 9 Apple Fritter Review

Apple Fritter from Delta 9 is a hybrid strain with a fruity flavour profile and dense dark buds.

Delta 9 Apple Fritter is balanced hybrid that was created by crossing Sour Apple with Animal Cookies.

It’s aroma and flavour profile is compared to sweet herbally apple with a light vanilla undertone upon exhale which is obviously where the name was derived. Growers report the buds to be medium size and dense with olive green and purple leaves, orange hairs and a thick coating of trichomes.

We’re curious how this product compares to Delta 9’s White Out strain.

Smell

The product arrived from Delta 9 in an industry standard white plastic container with security top. Upon opening the lid we had a difficult time identifying the smell. However after a few minutes the bud had a chance to breathe and we began detecting a very mild citrusy herbal. But unfortunately no apple or vanilla or anything remotely cake-like.

Appearance

We dumped out the contents and noticed the lack of a humidity shield which means the buds were in an extreme dry state – this was packaged on December 4, 2022 which is a pretty long time to sit in the plastic container. Except for the shake, the nugs looked fine on the surface level. The grouping of purple leaves is nicely covered with trichomes amongst the bolder greens with the odd orange firecracker hairs. It’s appearance reminded us a bit of Wedding Pie by Back Forty. However as soon as you pick up this flower it becomes very apparent that it can be crushed between your fingertips into dust.

Flavour

Given the almost non-existent aroma we were a bit surprised when the flavour actually reflected the product name. On inhale you get a sharp citrusy acidic note which turns unto a quickly fading herbal on exhale. Mushy Granny Smith apples comes to mind as a good description.

Experience

Listed with 18.1% THC content and a price tag of $23.50 for 3.5 grams, we found Apple Fritter from Delta 9 very much ticked all the boxes for the average award. However the overall experience could have been greatly improved if the bud were not so dry. In terms of the high, it delivered a calm-minded feeling combined with a mild to moderate body tingling much like when carrying lots of static cling. Not a bad product but unlikely we’d order this one again.

Since high school my friends and I have been recreational cannabis users so we decided to start Merry Jade after legalization in 2019. We review and photograph the different products then share them on this website. The rating system we use is called “SAFE” which stands for Smell, Appearance, Flavour and Experience. Each category gets a score out of 10.

  2. Hi. Very good review. Thank you.
I think I purchased from the exact same batch with the same package date.
    Dust dry.
Slightly underweight at 3.30 grams for me.
    High was acceptable.
So dry, it was difficult to role a proper joint.
Would not buy again. For the same price, I’d rather try something else.

    • Totally agree. Have a feeling this smelled and tasted decent before drying out. Still don’t understand why all the brands aren’t using humidity shields or nitro seal. Seems like an easy decision. Appreciate you sharing your experience Mike.
